ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
Accessing Clarity, Openness, and Compassion
Everyone experiences feelings of sadness and fear. These feelings are a natural part of life and a healthy expression of our humanity. When these feelings become stuck, however, they can turn into chronic anxiety or depression. In these states of mind we might feel unmotivated, antisocial, unreasonably afraid of daily life, or question the point of living. If you are a person who experiences anxiety or depression, I can help. Using mindfulness techniques, I work gently with my clients to uncover the feelings underlying these experience and to cultivate increased awareness, self-acceptance, and transformation. When helpful I incorporate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (see blog) to help clients address and resolve habitual patterns of thought and action. Whatever the specifics of your situation, know that I will be right there with you, working creatively to meet challenges with kindness, clarity, and courage.
