ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION
The impacts anxiety and depression can at times feel overwhelming and keep people from living the life they know they are capable of. Using a gentle mindfulness-based approach, I help my clients to experience embodied self-acceptance, and develop new strategies for meeting life's challenges with confidence.
Attending school, navigating relationships, working, paying bills, living with roommates, and dealing with unexpected life events often characterize young adulthood. This can be a time of great excitement, but for many, its challenges can at times become overwhelming and confusing. Counseling offers young adults the opportunity to find their own solutions to the challenges presented by coming of age and finding one's place in the world. Often talking about problems can feel like its taboo, or a sign of weakness, however what clients typically find when they come to counseling is relief, increased self-acceptance, and strengthened confidence.
The language of children is play. Using non-directive play therapy, I will help your child to process feelings of sadness, anger, and fear, and to learn ways of dealing with these feelings more independently. If your child is struggling with difficult feelings or problematic behaviors I can help.
Relationships can be incredibly challenging, but they are also where the greatest healing and growth takes place. For couples who are committed to understanding one another and finding greater joy, connection, and passion in their relationship, I offer tools for deepening intimacy, improving communication, and resolving conflicts when they arise.
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a diagnosis given individuals who have experienced a traumatic event, or events, that frequently have a negative impact their ability to live fully. Using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) I help clients to process difficult events from the past so that such events no longer affect their daily lives. SPIRITUAL COUNSELING/MINDFULNESS COACHING
It is not uncommon to be healthy, have a stable career and social network, and still feel a sense of that something is missing. Dealing with questions of purpose, meaning, and mortality can at times feel intimidating, but can also be deeply transformational. In spiritual counseling and mindfulness coaching I provide a framework for my clients to identify their values and goals and to then achieve them.
